Flea Market at The Senior Center

I sold at my first "craft sale" on Saturday. Actually a flea market and probably not the best venue for crafts that are geared towards party supplies. However I made a few sales and a few contacts. The fee to sell at the market was $25 dollars, we spent $9 on frappucinos to get through the early morning and $5 on lunch and I made $39. So I literally just covered my costs for the day!

On the other hand, I met an event planner who loved my ruffled crepe paper and an writer and performing artist who may end up becoming a friend. I also handed out a lot of business cards to people who were interested but didn't want to buy right then. So all in all I felt like it was a successful day for my first time selling in public. Live and learn!

Hopefully in the future I'll be able to get into craft shows that fit my niche better. There will be a Christmas time craft show in my town and that's always a good call. Guess I'll have to start thinking about some Christmas crafting...

I also learned that people loved the ruffled crepe paper, origami crane earrings, map paper stationery, and brown kraft cards with fabric scrap flowers the most. Really good things to know about where to focus my efforts!

Thanks to all of my friends who came out to the sale and supported my work, it meant a lot to have you there!
